Mickey Lynn Weatherly

Mickey Lynn Weatherly, devoted father, son and brother lost his life on July 29, 2012 at age 65. He was born to Lois (Lipscomb) Weatherly and Jim Weatherly in Memphis, Texas in 1946. Mick grew up on a farm near Turkey, Texas, graduated from high school in Dumas, Texas, West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas and Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. Mick served his country in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969, and again from 1976 to 1979. He was discharged as a captain, after being stationed in Germany in service to the dental corp. Upon discharge, he moved to Lake Kiowa and established a dental practice in Gainesville, Texas. For more than 30 years, he provided dental care in Gainesville, in his gentle and loving manner. Mick married Joan Stelloh in 1971, and they have two children, Ryan and Nathan. He married Gracie (Groce) Smith in 1983. He was preceded in death by his father Jim and brother Charlie. Mick is survived by his boys Ryan of Sanger and Nathan of Lake Kiowa; mother Lois Weatherly of Lake Kiowa; sister Candace Kidder and her husband Rusty of Fort Worth; brother Barry Weatherly and his wife Karen of Amarillo; his beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, along with a lifetime of dear friends and patients. There will be an informal gathering of family and friends to celebrate Mick’s life at 3 p.m. on Friday at the Santa Fe Depot, 605 E. California, Gainesville, Texas.
