Virgil G. Sears

Virgil G. Sears died Thursday Aug 9 2012 after a long illness and complications from a stroke. He was at home at Lake Kiowa TX. Virgil was born in Merkel TX and was raised on the family’s ranch. He was a 25 year salesman for Motorola which allowed him to live in Dallas, Abilene and Lake Kiowa. Work took him throughout TX while earning him multi year membership in the “Galvin Masters” million d ollar sales club. Outside work Virgil loved his time on the water and water-skiing, traveling and spending time with his family two sons and one daughter, 8 grandchildren and one great- grandchild. Sears is survived by his wife Anna Jo of Lake Kiowa; sons Dr. Glenn and Carolyn Sears of Denton TX, Dr. Larry and Kathy Sears of Gainesville, and daughter Vicki and Bob Adsit of Lake Kiowa; brother Dick and Shirlene Sears of Colorado; grandchildren Christopher Sears, Timothy and Shannon Sears, Emily Sears, Laura and Robert Bong, Alan Sears, Brian Sears, Lance and Sabrina Adsit, and Grant Adsit; and great- grandson Monroe Clay Sears; special friends Rick and Connie Walker of Lubbock and children Luke, Amy and Mollie. Services will be at Whaley Methodist Church in Gainesville on Wednesday 15 August at 10:00 am and a graveside service in Merkel TX following. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Gainesville’s VISTO or a charity of your choice.
