Cecelia is a graduate of all girls Dominican High School in Galveston. She is a devoted Catholic and always followed the religious teachings she felt and was raised in. She had a very pleasant and forgiving nature.

Cecelia’s parents divorced when she was 12. She embraced her father’s wife, Martha Ann, as a good friend and gained 2 sisters, Linda and Sandra, and 2 brothers, Clay and Kelly. Her mother married P.W. Enbey and she lived at 1516 Ave. H (Ball St.) through high school.

Cecelia met her future husband while working at the Martini Movie Theater at 21st and Church St. in April 1955. After six months of dating and engagement, she married Raymond Arvel Pettigrew on October 23, 1955 in Saint Mary Cathedral, located at 21st and Church St.

Cecelia is survived by her husband Raymond, three children: Rebecca Lynn, Mark Raymond, Susan Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Mikia Ann.

Cecelia devoted her time to having and raising her children. Taking good care of her husband, and moving her family had to be her best and yet, toughest job. She was employed by Dr. William F. Powell at Widden Memorial Clinic for several years. She really enjoyed her last positon with Dansk International at Gainesville Outlet Mall because of the customers she met. She retired in 1998 to have more time for traveling.

Everyone, upon meeting Cecelia liked her. Close friends loved her. Cecelia and Raymond loved each other the “mostest.”
