A Graveside Service for Charles Ray Cheek, 78, of Callisburg is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Collinsville Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Mr. Cheek died Monday, July 18, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Cheek was born November 25, 1932 in Boswell, OK to Mattie Lou Baker and Charlie Cheek. He remained in Boswell until he moved to the Dallas area in the early 1950s to begin an apprenticeship in the sheet metal industry. Charles had a successful career in that field and opened his own shop in Denton, Checo Metal Fabricating, in 1985. Charles retired in 2000. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Collinsville.
Mr. Cheek is survived by daughters Carolyn Jeanette Couture of Baird; Tina Louise Cheek of Gordonville; Paula Suzanne Cheek of Joplin, MO; Sharon Diane and Gonzalo Salinas of Gainesville; and Lisa Marie Cheek of Callisburg. Grandchildren Kimberly Nicole Woods, Bradley Daniel Salinas, Kacie Elizabeth Salinas, Steven Fredrick Couture, and Matthew Charles Couture. Brother and wife Sterlin and Debbie Shaver of Waxahachie; sister and husband Marilyn and Tom Frick of Deleon Springs, FL; and brothers Jesse, Don, and Tommy Cheek, all of Boswell, OK.
Mr. Cheek was preceded in death by his parents; son Vance Ray Cheek; and step-mother Mattie Lou Cheek.
