Johnnie Joseph Arendt

Funeral Mass for Johnnie Joseph Arendt 85, of Gainesville are set for Friday February 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay Tx with Fr. Raymond McDaniel officating with burial to follow in St. Peter's cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited on Thursday February 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home. Mr. Arendt passed away on February 15, 2012 in Gainesville.



Johnnie was born on March 12, 1926 in Gainesville, Tx to Paul and Susie Neu Arendt. He attended school in Lindsay and married Sally Schad on November 3, 1949 at St. Mary's Church. Johnnie spent his working life farming and building fences. He enjoyed traveling, hunting and "cooking".



Johnnie is survived by his daughters Sheila and husband Gary Smith of the Northeast United States, Marian and husband Michael Williams of Roseburg Or. and Lisa and husband Jim Shelton of Port Aransas Tx. Sons Hank and his wife Virginia Sicking Arendt of Dallas and Jay and and his wife Robin Gilbreath Arendt of Southlake Tx. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and sisters Marie Metzler, Ann Herr, Lou Voth, LuElla Zimmerer and Joannie Bauer.
