Dennis Wayne Stewart

Funeral services for Dennis Wayne Stewart, 61, of Myra are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Gainesville with Bro. Bill Black officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Reed Cemetery in Myra under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.


Mr. Stewart passed away August 20, 2012 in Myra. He was born December 5, 1950 in Grand Prairie to Max and Carolyn Stewart.


Mr. Stewart graduated from Fredrick High School in Fredrick, OK in 1969 and then attended college in Weatherford, OK. He served in the US Navy as a radioman and was stationed at Pearl Harbor during Vietnam. Mr. Stewart married Ruby Dean Thomas in Myra on November 15, 1980. He was a machinist at Webber Aircraft for 31 years.


Survivors include: wife Ruby Stewart of Myra; daughter Schelley Harrison and husband Jason of Gainesville; daughter Lindy Hacker and husband Chris of Myra; son James Stewart of Myra; sister Sharon Muller and husband Steve of Myra; brother Larry Stewart and wife Kerrie of Gainesville; and granddaughters Emily and Karissa Harrison.


Preceded in death by: his parents and sister Brenda Stewart.


Pallbearers: Wayne Muller, Gary Muller, Steven Stewart, Justin Stewart, David Thomas, Jason Stewart, William Holmes, and Anthony Maldonado. Honorary Pallbearer: Lynn Thomas.


In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County.
