Joe Marshall

Funeral services for Joe Marshall, 74, of Gainesville are scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Frank Lorne officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday, September 20, 2012.


Mr. Marshall passed away September 16, 2012 in Gainesville.


Joe Marshall was born January 27, 1938 in Gainesville to Jessie and Corella Marshall.


Survivors include his brothers: Guy Miller of Gainesville, Jessie Curtis Hunt, Robert Wayne Hunt and wife Latanya, and Bobby Homles – all of Clarksville, TN; sisters: Brenda Louis Ligon and husband Carl, Karen Denise Hoosier and husband George, Beverly Lynn Minor and husband Wayne, and Alma Faye Cartwright and husband Carlos – all of Clarksville, TN; daughters: Gayleth Marshall-Laurence of Gainesville, Margret Kenney of Gainesville, LeAnn Marshall of Ft. Worth, Donna Brown of Ft. Worth, and Celestine Shavon Marshall of Denison; sons: Gary Marshall of Gainesville, Donald Marshall of Austin, and Deone Smith of Denison. Survivors also include a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.


Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Rita Catherine Hunt, daughter Donna Ewing Scott, sisters: Jessie Johnson, Linda Scott, Flora Franklin, and Mary Hilly; and brother Tony Hall.
