Aaron Mims

A graveside service with military honors for Aaron Mims, 73, of Gainesville, is scheduled for 1:00 PM Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Frank Lorne officiating. Services are under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.


Mr. Mims passed away October 7, 2012 in Sherman.


Mr. Mims was born January 1, 1939 in Gainesville to Aaron Mims, Sr. and Ada Grace Hendricks. He married Doris Johnson April 14, 1962 in Gainesville. Mr. Mims was a telegraph operator in the U.S. Air Force. He worked at Dowell Chemical for 15 years and later retired from Borden.


Survivors include: wife Doris of Gainesville; brother Billy Don Hendricks of Gainesville; brother Ricky Hendricks and wife Regina of Wichita, KS; brother Jerry Hendricks and wife Carolyn of Gainesville; sister Dorothy Johnson of Wichita, KS; sister Janice Barlow of Wichita, KS; sister Maurie Sadler of Dallas; godson Kris Johnson of Carrollton; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.


Mr. Mims was preceded in death by his parents Aaron Mims, Sr. and Ada Grace Hendricks; sister Clementine Wilburn; brother Willie Mims; brother Charles Mims; brother Gary Hendricks; and grandparents Joe and Mable Mims.


Honorary Pallbearers will be: Terry Mims, Carl Mims, Clearance Johnson, Thomas Johnson, James Calhoun, James C. Lewis, Jr., Kris Johnson, Alfred Ray Bradley, and Johnny Williams.


Memorials may be made to Corinthian Baptist Church.
