Mary Louise Childress

Funeral services for Mary Louise Childress, 82, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Grand Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Lorne officiating. Burial will follow at New Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 30 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Childress was born February 1, 1931 in Clarksville, TX to Bernard Love and Pearlie B. Latimer. She passed away May 26, 2013 in Gainesville.

Mrs. Childress attended Booker T. Washington and worked at Zodiac Seats for sixteen years. Mrs. Childress loved to shop and enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.

Survivors include: daughter, Alice Rambo and husband, Reuben of Marietta, OK; son, Lilton Lawson and wife, Stephanie of Gainesville; son, Paul Lawson and wife, Janice of Gainesville; daughter, Joyce Manuel of Gainesville; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Nicholson of Gainesville.

Mrs. Childress was preceded in death by: husband, Chester Childress; her parents; and brothers, Roy Latimer and Ben Latimer.
