Helen C. Smith

Services for Helen C. Smith, 94, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel with Dr. Bennie Slack officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.

Ms. Smith was born in Texhoma, OK on December 28, 1918.

She passed away July 6, 2013 in Gainesville.

Ms. Smith was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Gainesville and worked in the children’s department there. She was passionately involved with the Gainesville Nature Club. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Survivors include: great-nephew, Dalton McConnell of Whitesboro; great-niece, Loran McConnell of Gainesville, and her children, Mia, Micah, and Drake.

Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janiece McConnell; brother, Jack Chitwood; and nephew, Doug McConnell.
