A Funeral Mass for Marie Sandmann, 91, of Lindsay, is scheduled for Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay, Tx with Fr. Ken Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, September 2, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Marie passed away at her home on August 30, 2013. A funeral lunch for family and friends will be provided by St. Anne's Society.
Marie was born on April 12, 1922 in Lindsay, Tx to John and Katie Kempf Zimmerer. She attended Lindsay Schools and married the love of her life, Julius Sandmann on November 9, 1943. They moved to Lindsay and retired in November 1982.
Her hobbies included gardening, needlework and making many beautiful quilts which her family will always treasure. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy.
Marie is survived by son Larry and wife Sharon of Whitesboro, son Leroy and wife Doris of Lindsay, son Damond and wife Debbie of Lindsay, son Leslie and wife Marilyn of Lindsay, daughter Charlotte Klement and husband Dale of Muenster,and daughter Mary Jo Berend and husband Tom of Wichita Falls.
Marie is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grand children, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Julius Sandmann, her parents, brothers Andrew, Raymond, Norbert, and Joe, and sisters Elizabeth, Margaret, and Louise. Also preceding her in death were grandchildren Khristie Klement, Dawn Sandmann McFarland and Michelle Berend Cannedy.
Pallbearers are sons Larry, Leroy, Damond, Leslie, and sons-in-law Dale Klement and Ton Berend.
Memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County or St. Peter's Restoration Fund, 424 W. Main St., Lindsay, Tx 76250.
