Sarabeth Thompson

Graveside service for Sarabeth Thompson 76, of Gainesville are set for Tuesday September 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Tahoka Cemetery in Tahoka ,Tx. under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home. Sarabeth passed away on September 5, 2013 at her home.

Sarabeth was born on September 2, 1937 in Tahoka, Tx to Frank and Fannie Peay Herrin.

In the 70's she received her pilot's license. She flew many hours on Charter Flights during the oil boom days. After receiving the news that she had contacted Fibro My Algia she give up flying except for recreation.

She was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma earning a PHD in Psychology with a minor in Sociology at the age of 59. In the 90's she was employed by Avis Car Rental Reservation Center in Tulsa, Ok. for 13 yrs. In 1999 she moved to Dawson, Tx in order to trace her family history. Her parents met in Dawson in 1919 as Frank was discharged from WWI. Fannie was a young widow with a 2 yr old. They were married in 1920 and moved to Tahoka in 1926.

Sarabeth is survived by three sons Bill, Mark and David Thompson, grandson Jeremy and wife Amanda and great grandchildren Jadon and Raley all of Ok. and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers James and Grady Herrin, Frank Jr., Randall, Dan and Charles McGlaun and a sister Annette Lindsey. You may sign the online registry at geojcarroll.com
