Bonnie Farr Moore

March 27, 1930 — September 10, 2013

Bonnie Farr Moore passed away on September 10, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, TX. She was born to O.G. (Hart) and Reba Kennedy Farr in Gainesville, TX, on March 27, 1930. She was married to Joe Moore and to that union three children were born: Susan, Scott and Steven Moore.


Bonnie graduated from Gainesville High School and was a long time member of the First Baptist Church. She was very involved with church activities including Sunday School, Training Union and Vacation Bible School. She also participated and helped with her children’s school and extracurricular activities whether it be PTA, scouts, room mother, sports, drill team, etc. Bonnie owned and managed The Tree House, a children’s boutique and specialty store, for almost twenty years.


Bonnie was an amazing mother and friend and we all loved her so much. She had such a great personality and always had a smile. Her love of gardening, flowers, cooking and entertaining were a passion and she did it all with such style and beauty.


Bonnie was preceded in death by her brother, Don Farr, her parents O.G. (Hart) and Reba Kennedy Farr and her former husband, Joe Moore.


She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses: Susan Moore Gentry and Jerry Gentry of Dallas, TX; Scott Moore and Paula Moore of Durant, OK; Steve Moore and Kelli Moore of Norman, OK; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. Other family members include cousins Ella Ruth Kennedy Maddox, Jim and Tommy Kennedy and Jane Farr Stewart. She also had numerous special friends.


Pall bearers are A.J. Beyer, David Buttolph, Mike Hargesheimer, Charles Kennedy, Everett Marler and Steve Snuggs. Honorary pall bearers are Dick Buttolph, Kenneth Kaden, Tom Stark, Steve Merrick, Charlie Stringer, Charles Medley, and Robert Voth.


Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Sweeney for Children with Diabetes, P.O Box 918, Gainesville, TX 76240 or the charity of your choice.


A visitation is planned for 6-7 pm Friday, September 20, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.


Following a private graveside service, a memorial service will be held at 10 am Saturday, September 21, in the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel.
