Jerry Davis was born on April 13, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK to James L. & Lola Davis. Jerry died on November 11, 2013 in Corinth, Texas surrounded by his loved ones.
He is survived by his love of 27 years Linda Milam-Davis of Gainesville, Children: son Bryan Davis and wife Mary Kay of Stephenville, son Shawn Davis of Glen Rose, son Michael Newton of Healdton, and daughter Tina Davis and husband Rorry of Gainesville, Brothers: James Davis and wife Kay of Decatur, and Bill Davis and wife Tanya of Slidell, and long-time best friend Lee Ship of Stephenville, Nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many, many good friends.
Jerry was an avid Rodeo attendee, and was constantly watching and keeping up with Professional Bull Riding. Among other hobbies he enjoyed sports of all kinds but specifically the Dallas Cowboys and Texas A&M Aggies. Jerry was also an avid deer hunter. Cattle also shared a special place in his heart and he has spent many hours prepping them for the show ring. However, above all these interests he loved his children and grandchildren more than life itself and bragged about their accomplishments daily.
In his later years Jerry enjoyed spending his days with his companion of Seven years Bella. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Loewen officiating. Interment will follow at Slidell Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jerry’s grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
