Funeral service for Myrtle Rose Stewart 89, of Valley View Tx, are set for Thursday December 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pioneer Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Watson officating with burial to follow in the New Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday December 18, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Myrtle went to be with her Lord on December 17, 2013 in Gainesville, Tx.
Myrtle was born on September 29, 1924 in Alamosa, Colorado to Vance and Pearl Fountain Goff. She was a secretary of the United Methodist Church in Farmington, New Mexico for 20 yrs and she moved back to Texas in 1992. She was a wonderful loving mother and always was there for her children and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved to camp and all you had to say to her was let's go. Myrtle was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and enjoyed working in the food bank. When she moved to the country she enjoyed watching the humming birds at the feeders while enjoying a cup of coffee..Myrtle is survived by daughters Karen Aycox and husband Arnold of Valley View Tx, Sharon Stout and husband Ed of Valley View, Texas and son David Stewart and wife Cindy of Lake Worth, Texas., 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, sister Mona Heath and husband Dick of Farmington N.M., sister in law Mackie Goff of Farmington N.M. and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Marion Goff, Maurice Goff and, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Greg Dollar, Jeff Coldwell, Doyle Castle, Ronny Stewart, Orvile Aycox and Joseph Aycox. You may sign the online registyat geojcarroll.com
