Michael Jay Hargesheimer

A funeral mass for Michael Jay (Mike) Hargesheimer, 54, of Gainesville, well be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gainesville with Fr. Gary Picou officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, at 6:00 PM Tuesday, August 12, 2014 with a visitation to follow.

Mike passed away August 7, 2014 after battling cancer for 8 months.
Mike was born October 11, 1959 in Sherman to J.L. and Louise Hargesheimer. He was a life-long resident of Gainesville, attending public school and graduating from Gainesville High School in 1978. On April 24, 1982, he married Mary Privett. After the death of his father in 1984, Mike continued the family business, J.L. Hargesheimer Air Conditioning and Heating.

Mike loved the outdoors, spending many years on Lake Texoma and at his deer lease with his family and friends.

Mike was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Gainesville. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus. Also, he was a life member of Gainesville Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Scottish Rite Mason, and a life member of the National Rifle Association.

Mike was preceded in death by his father J.L. Hargesheimer.

Mike is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Hargesheimer of Gainesville; daughter April Lillard of Gainesville; son Jacob Hargesheimer of Gainesville; grandchildren Jared and Colten Boswell, Raelee and Kyler Van Buskirk all of Gainesville; mother and step-father Louise and James Bellows of Gainesville; twin sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Dale Bauer of Gainesville; grandmother Maggie Baker of Gainesville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dale and Danetta Whisnant, Sonny and Karen Privett, Lyndy and Shelley Privett, Tommy Privett, Chad and Christie Sewell, Jody and Debbie Privett. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Pall bearers will be Jeff Hammer, Robert Boone, Larry McKnight, Steve Moore, David Jones, and Michael Mercer. Honorary pall bearers are Kip Schiller, Herkey Biffle, Bob Doty, and Jim J. Hatcher.
