Norene Melendez

Funeral service for Norene Melendez, 70, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 PM Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Gainesville, with the Bishop Kevin Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at the funeral home at 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 14, 2014.

Norene was born in Tulare, CA. to Robert Karl and Nina Mae (Smithson) Uptain on October 3, 1943. She passed away on September 10, 2014 in Carrollton.

She is survived by her daughter Maria Melendez and her husband Miguel Marquez, and their children Anahi Aguirre, Daniela Marquez, and Victoria Marquez all of Carrollton; daughter Tris Lea and her husband Tim, and their children Stephen Lea, and Amber Lea, all of Junction City, OR.; son Guy Uptain of Thackerville, OK.; son Robert Uptain, and his children, Angelet Uptain, and Janelle Uptain all of Thackerville, OK.. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Francisco Melendez in 1995.
