Memorial services for John L. Pipes, 59, of Gainesville are set for 2:00 PM Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Pipes officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the funeral home.

John passed away September 18, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born December 2, 1954 in Fort Worth, to John Roy and Mary Wahneeta Watson Pipes.

Mr. Pipes is survived by his wife Tisha Slagle Pipes of Gainesville; son Brandon Cole Pipes of San Diego, CA; son Jarrod Knudson and wife Carmen of Madison, MS; son Ryan Knudson and girlfriend Marissa Linder of Denton; son Neil Slagle and significant other Kelly Gupta of Seattle Washington; daughter Lindsey Collins and significant other Laura Lewis of Gainesville; mother Mary Watson Pipes of Gainesville; brother Michael Pipes and wife Tana of Odessa; nephew Steven Pipes of College Station; 2 grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his father John R. Pipes; grandparents John Emmett and Thelma Sharp Watson; grandparents Bran and Pauline Pipes.
