Guy Newton Rosson

Funeral services for Guy Newton Rosson, 93, of Gainesville, is set for 10:00 AM Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Geo. J Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Jones and Rev. Frank Lorne officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 7:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the funeral home.

Guy was born on May 7, 1921 in Myra to B.C. and Opal Niece (Burkett) Rosson. He passed on September 29, 2014 in Denton.

He was a veteran of WWII, proudly serving his country in Germany. He was in the oil field industry his entire career, establishing his own oil field business, Guy's Supply, in 1965. Mr. Rosson was a member of Whaley United Methodist Church.

"Peepaw" was happily married for over 70 years to Doris Dozier Rosson. He was a beloved husband, daddy, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Survivors include his son Nicky Rosson and his wife Bonnie of Austin; daughter Connie Hoberer and her husband Larry of Gainesville; grandchildren Christy Rosson O'Dell, Cindy Rosson Hollandsworth, Brady Hoberer and his wife Anne, Ryan Hoberer and wife Shannon, and Gregory Rosson; great-grandchildren Blake Hollandsworth, Makenzie Hollandsworth, Landon O'Dell, Jolie Hoberer, Race Hoberer, and Hayes Hoberer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister Enoice Webb, and brother J.C. Rosson.
