Memorial services for John W. Bennett, 83, formerly of Gainesville, are set for 11:00 AM Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Yeager officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM just prior to the memorial service.

Mr. Bennett passed away October 1, 2014 in Carrollton.
John was born February 22, 1931 in Hale County, AL to John R. and Sinda Bennett.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty M. Bennett formerly of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law Robin and Jeff Harris of Fort Worth; daughter Sinda “Renay” Bennett of Houston; daughter and son-in-law Raegan and Andy Bowden of Cypress; 4 grandchildren.
