ROBERT BRUCE HEINE
Robert Bruce Heine, 62, son of Dr. Ralph and Noreen Heine, formerly of Gainesville, Texas was born July 23, 1952 in Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC. and died Sunday, October 12, 2014 in Athens, Texas after a long illness. He graduated from Elk City High School and then attended Oklahoma State University where he received both undergraduate and graduate degrees in aerospace engineering.
Following college, he was employed by Boeing in Wichita, Kansas until 2004 when he retired due to ill health. While at Boeing he helped design and modify numerous aircraft including the 737, 747, 767, 777, and the presidential jet, Air Force One. He was a member of the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace.
Robert was a true gentleman. Beloved by all that knew him. He quietly accepted his many illnesses and deeply appreciated all those who cared for him.
He is survived by his parents of Denton, TX. His sister Margaret Flanagan and husband Dean of Gainesville, TX and four brothers and their wives, Richard Heine and Carol of Evergreen, CO, Dr. Ronald Heine and Jacque of Athens, TX, Dr. Donald Heine and Anne of San Antonio, TX, John Heine and Wendie of Argyle, TX., 3 nephews and 7 nieces.
A private funeral service will be held at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Gainesville, TX, with Fr. Ken Robinson officiating. A private burial will occur in Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, OK.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO BOX 22718, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123-1718, or to the charity of your choice.
