Evelyn Helen Wimmer Mages
Evelyn Helen Wimmer Mages went to her eternal home on October 16, 2014 in Irving. A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 6:00 PM Saturday, October 18, 2014, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM following the visitation at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Celebration Mass of her life will be 4:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gainesvillle, on Sunday, October 19, 2014. Burial will follow at the St. Peter's Cemetery in Lindsay under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mages was born on July 25, 1924 in Muenster to John Nicholas and Matilda Ann (Ostrowsky) Wimmer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Eddie Mages; son Edmund Mages II; granddaughter Marsha Hunter Clark; five sisters Caroline, Mamie, Genevieve, Irene, and Agnes; two brothers Richard, and Edmon.
She was a mother, grandmother, and sister that enjoyed years of being a seamstress and going dancing with her husband. In later years, she was well known for her homemade cinnamon rolls and lemon pies that she baked and shared with neighbors. She will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by daughter Shirley Norton; daughter Nancy Logan; daughter Rosemary Corey and her husband Barry; daughter Barbara Cleveland and her husband Ronald; son David Mages; sister Angie Hromcik; sister Dorothy Elpers; sister Lucille Newara; and brother Arnie Wimmer. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Norton, Stuart Gregor, Kenny Corey, John Hunter Jr., Mark Mages, and Leslie Mages.
