Mary Alice Jordan

Funeral service for Mary Alice Jordan 78 , of Gainesville are set for Tuesday December 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Commerce Street Church of Christ with Jay Culpepper officiating with burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday December 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Mary Alice passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Denton Regional Hospital in Denton on November 26, 2014.

Mary Alice was born on June 19, 1936 in Bartlett, Tx to Flavil and Mary Elizabeth Yeakley Sr. She graduated from Weslaco High School in 1954 and Denton Vocational School of Nursing in 1974. She married Richard Liston Jordan on December 20, 1955, and worked as an LVN for many years before retiring. Mary Alice was a member of the Lions Club, and a active member of the Commerce Street Church of Christ.

Mary Alice is survived by her sons Paul Jordan of Gainesville, Sam Jordan and his wife Janet of Sherman,Tx and Tim Jordan and his wife Barbara of St. Jo, Tx and brother Flavil Yeakley Jr. and his wife Maydell of Searcy, Arkansas, grandchildren Chasity Kalhoff, Christine Sakowski and husband Robbie, Melissa Jordan, Christopher Jordan, Timothy Jordan and wife Kristen, Brandi Smith and Zachary Taylor Jordan and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Jordan in 2006, her parents, brother Benny Allan Yeakley and a grandson Alex David Jordan.
