Deloris "Dee" Ann Smith

A private graveside service for Deloris "Dee" Ann Smith, 74, of Gainesville, is set for a later date. No visitation is planned.

Deloris was born on June 26, 1940 in Gainesville to Hubert Henry and Ulia Selma (Nichols) Owens. She passed away on January 25, 2015 in Fort Worth at Plaza Medical Center.

Dee was of the Baptist faith, and baptized at Grand Avenue Baptist Church. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and was retired from Weber Aircraft.

She is survived by her daughter Vicky Smith Lindsey and her husband Jim of Sherman; son Jimmy Hughes and his wife Denise of Denison; son Steve Hughes and his wife Lisa of Sherman; son Billy Hughes and his wife Lisa of Sherman; daughter Lisa Hoberer and her husband Richard of Gainesville; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister Frances Covington of Gainesville; sister Bonnie King of Irving; sister Modell Stanfill of Arlington; and 11 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Robert Owens; and sister Paula Bishop.
