Funeral services for Alpha Louise Reece Levell, 92, of North Richland Hills, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Don Yeager officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 22 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Levell passed away following a brief illness on Thursday, March 19 at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine. She was born in Gainesville on July 31, 1922 to Minnie Enderby Reece and Arthur Hiram Reece.
Alpha graduated from Gainesville High School in 1939 and she held a Bachelor Degree from the University of North Texas. During World War II she worked at Camp Howze. Alpha married Walter Eugene Levell in 1946. They lived several places in Texas and Oklahoma before moving the family back to Gainesville in 1964.
Mrs. Levell owned and operated Alpha Realty in Gainesville, serving multiple terms as President of the Cooke County Board of Realtors. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Gainesville and a Past Worthy Matron of the Belle Moon Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. For the last twenty years, Alpha lived in North Richland Hills to be near her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Hurst.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Alpha Levell is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Michael Robertson, and son and daughter-in-law Robert and Ann Levell, all residing in North Richland Hills. Her grandson Lance and his wife Kristen Levell of Hurst, and her granddaughter Kate Levell of Austin also survive her. Alpha has one great-granddaughter, Abigail Levell of Hurst. Her parents, husband, and two brothers, D. J. Reece and Eugene Reece preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Belle Moon Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, in care of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
