Estelene "Nanny" Delashaw

Funeral services for Velma Estelene Delashaw, 95, of Callisburg, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Ben Willingham and Dennis Perry officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son.

Mrs. Delashaw passed away June 17, 2016 in Sherman.

Estelene was born February 25, 1921 in Callisburg to Ed and Bessie (Henderson) Blurton. She took pleasure in bird watching and gardening. Mrs. Delashaw also enjoyed cooking, and was famous for her chocolate and coconut cream pies. She attended the Callisburg SNAP gatherings and participated in their quilting group. “Nanny”, as she was affectionately known by many, was an integral contributor to the raising of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be missed.

Survivors include: son Bobby Delashaw and wife Malissa of Callisburg; daughter Glenda Evans and husband Jackie of Callisburg; daughter Linda Wilson and husband Ronnie of Callisburg; grandchildren: Kyle, Matt, Cindy, Crissy, Bonnie, and Jennifer; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mrs. Delashaw was preceded in death by: her parents; husband Merwin Delashaw; two sisters; and four brothers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Callisburg Community Club.
