Donald "Donnie" Eugene Mask

Donnie was born in Gainesville, TX on June 28, 1955 to Robert "Bob" Mask and Betty "Watson" Mask. Donnie was the second eldest of Bob and Betty's 7 sons. Donnie, 61, passed away Friday March 3, 2017 due to a heart attack.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Steve. Donnie leaves behind his son and daughter-in-law Cody and Julie Mask, their children Lilly and Wylie; daughter Kenna Mask and her children Bailey and Avy; his former spouse of 31 years and mother of his children Deborah "Debbie" (Starnes) Mask; brother David; brother Rusty; brother Mark and his wife Donna; brother Tim; brother Randy and his wife Teresa; numerous nieces and nephews; and more beloved friends than can be counted.

Donnie left the family home in Sturgeon, TX at a young age to pursue his dream of being a cowboy. In his early years, he worked as a cowboy everywhere from West Texas feedlots to East Texas ranches, and as a ranch manager in Central Texas before returning with his family to his Cooke County home as a ranch manager in Sivells Bend, TX where his son and daughter were blessed with the opportunity to spend long days in the saddle, living and working on a cattle ranch in "God's Country", and to grow up in a way that anyone would envy.

Donnie always said that the best way to be close to his Lord and Savior was to be on horseback in His Creation, and Donnie loved every second of it. He will be deeply missed.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday March 17, 2017 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son funeral home in Gainesville, TX.
