Benard Hines

The graveside service for Benard Hines, 87, of Gainesville, is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Callisburg Cemetery with Pastor Wiley Sullivan officiating. Services are under the care of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Hines passed away March 7, 2017 in Gainesville.

Benard was born April 9, 1929 in Monroe, LA to Lee and Mary (Lewis) Hines. He was a salesman with Montgomery Ward, from whom he retired. He enjoyed reading his Bible, farming, and gardening – taking great pride in his annual watermelon harvest. More than anything, he treasured his time spend with family, particularly his grandchildren.

Survivors include: daughter Diane Morgan and husband Jerry of Pharr; son Michael Hines and wife Pam of Woodbine; son Danny Hines and wife Jean of Lake Kiowa; grandchildren: Chuck, Misty, Brian, Ami, Cory, and Krystle; 16 great-grandchildren; and brother Ray Hines of Houston.

Mr. Hines was preceded in death by: his parents; wife Frances Hines; four brothers; and one sister.
