Memorial services for David Alfred Sanders, Jr., 88, of Gainesville, are set for 3:00 PM Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Mark Loewen officiating.

David passed away April 9, 2017 in Muenster. He was born October 9, 1928 in Corsicana, TX to David Alexander and Blanche Edna (Lockwood) Sanders.

Mr. Sanders Graduate from Tyler High School in 1946 and from Texas A&M University in 1950. He was a construction supervisor from 1951 to 1953 in Bryan, TX. He also served in the US Army and an Army Aviator, earning the rank of Captian. In 1954 he married Joyce Erlen Melson McViegh.

David Worked for S-K Church Furniture Co. in Jackson, TX from 1957 to 1969. He began in sales with the company and eventually became the Manager. Then in 1969 he founded Sanders MFG. Co. Inc. which he operated until he sold the company in March of 1999. He then, in July of 1995, married Audrey Annette Harrell Martin in Sivells Bend.

Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife Annette Sanders of Gainesville; son Dr. Robert Sanders of Sherman; son and daughter-in-law Alan and Judy Sanders of Gainesville; daughter Kelly Sanders of Denton; stepson and daughter-in-law Darrell and Diane Martin of Corinth; stepson and daughter-in-law Chad and Trina Martin of Gainesville; grandchildren: April, Amy, Amanda, Jenny, Chris, Tiffany, Derrek, Nathan, Denise, Kristin, Chase, and Alexandra; 9 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 401 N. Dixon St., Gainesville, TX 76240.
