Donald Thomas Smith

Graveside services for Donald T. Smith, 87, of Weatherford are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Roselawn Cemetery in Denton, TX.

Mr. Smith died at the Regency Hospital in Ft. Worth on May 29, 2009.

Don was born September 2, 1921 in Dallas, Texas to William Charles and Ella Burnadette Bailey Smith.

Don was a Sgt. in the U.S. Army Air Corp and served in WWII and Central Burma. He worked for the Federal Reserved Bank, Dallas Post Office, and Texas Hat Co. Don was an outdoorsman, avid fisherman, golfer, bowler, and hosted many golf tournaments with his one-of-a-kind wit.

Survivors include Rama Sue Allen of Weatherford; children Donna and John Dupree of Denton, Dana and Arlene Smith of Greenville, Deida and Alfredo Kieninger of Gainesville; grandchildren John Dupree, Jr., Lanette Dupree, Stacy Savage, Thomas Kieninger, Becky Johnson, Jason Hardee; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife Edalene Mae Smith and his parents.

In leiu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in the memory of Donald T. Smith if one so wishes.
