Dr. Jerry D. Strader

Funeral Services for Dr. Jerry D. Strader, 78, of Denton are set for 1 P.M. Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Denton Bible Church under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Nelson and Rev. Mel Summeral officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, TX. A visitation will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville from 6:30 – 7:30 on Wednesday, February 11, 2009.

Mr. Strader died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Strader was born on January 29, 1931 in Gainesville to Weldon and Tressa Nall Strader. He attended Gainesville schools and served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from North Texas with a Bachelor Degree, from Fresno State with a Master Degree, and from North Texas with a Doctorate Degree. He taught for twenty-seven years at Tarrant County Jr. College.

Mr. Strader is survived by son and daughter-in-law Greg and Patricia Strader of Denton, and brother and sister-in-law Dr. Edward and Carol Ann Strader of Cheyenne, WY.
