John Pendergraft

Funeral services for John Pendergraft, 78, of Gainesville have been set for Tuesday September 7, 2010 at 2 PM at the Geo J Carroll & Son Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo J Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Mr. Pendergraft died Friday September 3, 2010 at his residence.

John was born December 12, 1931 in Garrett Bluff, Texas to Raymond Lee and Laura Williams Pendergraft. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and family gatherings.

John is survived by his children: John H and Beth Pendergraft of Gainesville, Nancy and Ben Poindexter of Sallisaw, Ok, Dennis J and Renee Pendergraft of Abernathy, TX, Jeffery D. Pendergraft of Brennan, TX, Julian A and Ronald Parker of Gainesville, Mary J and Howard Tackett of Gordonville, TX, James E and Kim Pendergraft of Callisburg, Jana L and Daniel Lane of Gainesville, and J. L. Pendergraft, Jr. of Gainesville; sister: Sylvia Anderson of Martinez, Ca; brother: Lee Pendergraft of Paris, TX; 25 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.


John was preceded in death by his parents: R.L. and Laura Pendergraft; his brothers: Otis and Aubrey Pendergraft; and sisters: Lucille Clark and Hazel Mc kinney.
