A funeral mass for Juanita Stevens Bengfort,79, of Lindsay, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Ken Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lindsay. A rosary, followed by a visitation, will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bengfort died December 31, 2009 at the Denton Regional Medical Center.
Juanita was born August 10, 1930 to Daughtry and Mae Summers Stevens in Denton County. After raising eight children, Juanita had not tired of giving, which led her to devote a large part of her life to numerous volunteer and charitable organizations including the American Cancer Society, Church Women United, St. Anne Society, AARP, Habitat for Humanity, and Home Hospice of Cooke County.
She is survived by her children: Christine and Gary Mozingo of Lindsay, David and Gary Bengfort of Lindsay, Richard and Judy Bengfort of Gainesville, Robert and Shelli Bengfort of Lindsay, Becky and Kelly Bower of Vancouver, WA, Jennifer Bengfort of Lindsay, James Bengfort of Tulsa, OK, her sister Rose Griffith of Iowa Park, 10 grandchildren: Cassandra Bengfort, Brandon and Tasha Bengfort, Jessica and Victor Smith, Megan Mozingo and Matt Anderton, Eric Bengfort, John Bower, Jennifer Hermes, Nick Gunnells, Jacob Kittrell and Dakota Butler, and 5 great grandchildren: Craig Bengfort, Brayden Smith, Brandon Bengfort Jr., Keegan Turner, and Tyler Anderton, nephews Mark and Johnny Griffith and, numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her sister in law Frances Yosten of Muenster, her sister in law and brother in law Ann and Bob Hale of Dallas and brother in law Gordon Griffith of Iowa Park.
She is preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of 58 years, Al Bengfort.
