Alene Chisam

Graveside services for Alene Chisam, of Fred, Texas, are set for 2:00 PM Saturday, January 3, at Fairview Cemetery, with Tanner Cason officiating, under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville, Texas.

Alene was born on September 10, 1932, in Bulcher, Texas, to John Jay Moore and Flossie Myrtle (Sullivan) Moore. She passed away on December 23, 2025.

She is survived by her sons, Steve Chisam and wife Sue of Shreveport, Louisiana; Randy Chisam and wife Donna of Port Neches, Texas; her daughter, Elaine Dearbonne and husband Kara of Fred, Texas; her grandchildren, Stephanie Knipe, Michael Chisam and wife Trish, Stacie Wilson and husband Ben, and Rachel Jorden and husband Paul; her great-grandchildren, Pierce Knipe, George Chisam, PJ Jorden, Harrison Chisam, and Annie Jorden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buck Chisam; her grandson, Layne Dearbonne; her brothers, Jay Moore and George Moore; and her sisters, Marie Bugg, Della Cason, and Pat Schuchert.

A special thank you to Shaina Brent and Denise Fortner for their devotion and loving care over the last four years.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-nephews.
