Ana was born and raised in Pinos, Zacatecas, MX by her beloved Mama Linda and Papa Jesús. She was the longest surviving of 12 children and would frequently share stories, like how her mom would send her to the store for ingredients, but she would spend hours looking at the Mickey Mouse magazines. She cherished her childhood and siblings, especially her youngest sister, Teresa. In her late 20s, she came to the United States and met her husband, David Carter. They met in a laundromat, and she described him as the most handsome and charismatic man. Ana shared stories of their adventures and inspired us with tales of teaching herself English and working her way up to Manager at El Fenix. She was adored by everyone in her life, especially her family. She got her nickname “Nini” from her granddaughter, Lindsey, and brought everyone together with her wonderful cooking. Along with being a talented cook, she loved to garden, knit, watch telenovelas, and care for others. Nini became a great-great-grandmother and would often tell us, “I’ve lived a good life.” She was constantly helping people and putting sunshine in their lives, and anyone who knew her could say they were blessed to have spent time with her. Although she will be missed, we know she will be very much adored in Heaven.
