Bill Morrison

William Arthur Morrison, a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 22, 2018.  He was 78 years of age and a resident of Gainesville.

Mr. Morrison is survived by: wife Mary Morrison; sister Fay Goodson and husband Bill; daughter Tina Davis and husband Glenn; daughter Sharon Tillman; step-son Bill Skaggs and wife Pam; step-daughter Renea Skaggs; grandchildren: Chrystal Miller, Contessa Wilkes, Brandyn Brown and wife Heather, and Rachel Tillman; and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Morrison was preceded in death by: father Thomas Sylvester Morrison; mother Ester Fletcher Clay; and brother James Edward Morrison.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 26 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  The funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, August 27 at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Huffman officiating.  Interment, with military honors, will take place at Fairview Cemetery following the funeral.
