Bonnie June Davis was born on June 18, 1937, in Atoka, Oklahoma, to Floyd and Marie Brewer. She grew up in rural Oklahoma, one of ten children, where life wasn't easy--but it was rich in love. She often shared how something as simple as a new pair of shoes at Christmas meant everything. No matter how little they had, there was always food on the table and room for one more. That lesson stayed with her for life.
If you ever sat at Bonnie's table, you know exactly who she was. She fed people--it's how she loved them. No one ever left her house hungry, and more importantly, no one ever left without feeling cared for.
On December 13, 1983, she married the love of her life, Danny Bob Davis. Together they built a life in Gainesville, Texas, side by side in everything they did. They were rarely apart. Whether it was working on a tractor, putting together plow disks, or just going about their day, they were a team in the truest sense.
She loved to fish, always chasing the next big catfish at Lake Texoma. Some of her happiest days were spent camping and fishing with Dan. When she wasn't at the lake, she was in her garden, growing and canning the food she loved to share. Her pickles and hot sauce weren't just good--they were a reflection of her generosity. She gave freely, whether you were family, friend, or someone she had just met.
But more than anything, she was my mom.
As her only child, I was blessed with a lifetime of her love, her strength, and her steady presence. She was always there-no matter what. She taught me what it means to care for people, to show up, and to give without expecting anything in return. Everything good in me started with her.
Bonnie left this world on April 26, 2026. She often said she was ready to see her family again, and she believed Dan would be waiting for her. While my heart will miss her every single day, I find peace in knowing she is no longer apart from the ones she loved so deeply.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam, and son-in-law, Robbie Tedder, of Midlothian, Texas; her sister, Ruby, and brother-in-law, Jeff Compton, of Rowlett, Texas; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews she loved dearly; and countless friends whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Danny Bob Davis; her parents, Floyd and Marie Brewer; four brothers; and four sisters.
Please join us in celebrating a life that was full of love, generosity, and quiet strength—a life that will continue to live on in all of us who were blessed to know her.
