Bonnie Bell Owens King, 95, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on December 22, 1930, in Walnut Bend, Texas, Bonnie lived a remarkable life spanning nearly a century. She spent many years in Irving, Texas, where she raised her family and built lasting friendships before later returning to Cooke County to be closer to loved ones. Through ninety-five years of change, challenge, and triumph, she remained steadfast in the values that mattered most: faith, family, independence, and perseverance.
Bonnie shared her life with her beloved husband, Weinsel Neal King. They were married on May 24, 1947, and spent fifty-six years together, building a family and a life rooted in faith, hard work, and determination.
Known for her sharp mind, strong will, and independent spirit, Bonnie was never one to be pushed around. She valued self-reliance, spoke her mind, and carried herself with a quiet strength that earned the respect of those around her. She faced life’s challenges with determination and lived life on her own terms.
Bonnie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved Taco Casa, looked forward to enchiladas whenever they were on the menu, enjoyed trips to Red Lobster, and spent many happy afternoons walking through Irving Mall. She cherished lively games of Bingo, spirited rounds of Forty-Two with friends from church, and time spent with family. Bonnie loved to win at just about anything she did and brought a competitive spark to every game she played.
She especially treasured receiving handwritten thank-you cards and thoughtful notes, small gestures that meant far more to her than material possessions. She never needed extravagant things to be happy. What mattered most were the people around her, the memories they shared, and the relationships that connected generations of family and friends.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Weinsel Neal King; her son, Robert King; her brother, Robert Owens; and her sisters, Paula Mae Smith and Deloris Ann Owens.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debbie Kincey and husband Billy; her sisters, Frances Covington and Modell Stanfill; her grandsons, Wes Pitzer and wife Heather, Blake King, and Dakota King and wife Carolyn; her six treasured great-granddaughters, Alexandra and Madison Pitzer, and Brooklyn, Kenslynn, Kambree, and Keller King; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Family was deeply important to Bonnie, though she was not always one to express her feelings openly. Her love was often shown not through words, but through her presence, her loyalty, and the time she shared with those she cared about. Those who knew her best understood that beneath her tough exterior was an unwavering devotion to her family.
In her later years, Bonnie reminded those around her that it is never too late to strengthen relationships, create new memories, and reconnect with the people who matter most. Some of her family's most treasured moments were made during the final years of her life through ordinary visits, holiday gatherings, shared meals, family stories, balloon-filled afternoons with great-grandchildren, and spirited games of Bingo. She taught those around her that meaningful moments do not have to be extraordinary to become unforgettable.
Bonnie's faith sustained her throughout her life. One of her favorite scriptures was Jeremiah 29:11:
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Though her family will miss her deeply, they find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and the example she set through a life well-lived. Bonnie valued independence over attention, strength over circumstance, and family above all else. Her legacy will live on through the generations that follow, in the stories that continue to be shared, and in the lives she touched along the way.
