Bowen Bradley Thomason, 72, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026.
Brad was a man who loved the simple things in life and the people he held dear. He had a passion for riding his Harley Davidsons, spending time fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. He was happiest with a fishing pole in hand, on the open road, or sharing stories with family and friends.
At the age of 17, Brad enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country for four years. The values of service, dedication, and perseverance remained with him throughout his life.
For more than 30 years, Brad worked as a dedicated truck driver for Alan Ritchey, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to his job.
Above all, Brad loved his family. He is survived by his daughters, Taylor Rice and husband Ariel Rice, and Nicole Johnson and husband David Johnson; the mother of his daughters, Brenda Sampson; sisters Dawn Bond and husband George Bond, and Barbara Roberts and husband Joe Roberts; brother Terry Thomason and wife Karen Thomason; and his longtime significant other, Karen Jones-Kreager.
He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Bowen Johnson, Stryker Johnson, Destinee Pedigo and husband Bud Pedigo, Ridley Rice, Anistyn Rice, and Merrick Rice; and great-grandchildren, Slayder Pedigo, River Pedigo, and Knox Pedigo, who brought him tremendous joy.
Brad will be remembered for his free spirit, his love of adventure, his sense of humor, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ariel Rice, George Bond II, Bud Pedigo, Bowen Johnson, Stryker Johnson, and Randy Graham.
Honorary Pallbearers will be David Johnson, George Bond, and Scotty Plumlee.
The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Callisburg Church of Christ with Ben Willingham officiating. A visitation is scheduled for 6:00 PM Tuesday at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel.
