Charles "Ray" Moore

Funeral services for Charles “Ray” Moore, 86, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. A visitation will be held the hour before the funeral service.

Mr. Moore passed away July 17, 2025 in Gainesville. He was born in Thackerville, OK to Joseph Andrew, Sr. and Lora Aletha (Steenrod) Moore. He married Phyllis Hurst Hutson on January 4, 1991.

Ray was a good, kind, and loving man. He had an excellent work ethic from childhood and throughout his entire life. He was one of the first employees of Weber Aircraft and retired after 50 years of dedication.

Mr. Moore loved the Lord and served him faithfully.

Ray is survived by his wife of 34 years, Phyllis Moore; son Jim Moore and family; daughter Kim Dane and family; sister Naomi Gregory; brother-in-law James Hurst; several nephews, nieces, and many cousins; his faithful, beloved dog Scampie Bowzer Moore.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Joseph Andrew Moore, Jr., Jim Moore, Ralph Moore; sister Imogene Koenig; step-daughter Shauna Reed; step-son Randy Hutson.

Pallbearers will be: Austin Smith, Lane Smith, Paul Johnson, Charles Harper, Scott Moore, Stephen Moore.
