Clinton William Stewart, Sr.

A memorial service for Clinton Stewart, 79, of Gainesville, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville, with Rev. Scott Arant & Rev. Larry Kremling officiating.

Clinton passed away May 6, 2026 in Gainesville. He was born July 27, 1946 to O.C. & Lavern (Griffith) Stewart. He graduated from Gainesville ISD in 1964. He married Mary Bennie February 12, 1966.

Clinton is survived by daughters Debbie & Mark Miller and Cindy & Bret Idom, son William & Raina Stewart; grandchildren: Eddie Miller, Chris & Lacey Miller, Zack & Hailey Miller, Sarah & Steven Nottingham, Crystal & Anthony Hurst, Brody & Mikayla Stewart, Blake Stewart, Bryce & Amanda Stewart; 10 great-grandchildren; sister & brother-in-law Linda & Bill Moore and several nieces, nephews & cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, parents O.C. & Lavern Stewart, father-in-law & mother-in-law Edward & Ona Bennie and brother-in-law Wayne Moore.
