Dale Raymond Alexander

Dale Raymond Alexander, 93, of Whitesboro, TX, passed away on July 20th, 2026, surrounded by loving family.

Dale was born Nov 23rd, 1932, in Paraloma, Arkansas, the son of Gutharie and May Alexander.

Dale joined the Air Force in 1952 and served until honorably discharged in 1956. During his time of service, he was promoted to Airman 1st Class and performed the duties of Navigator on B26 Bombers in the 1st Tow Target Squadron at Biggs AFB, Texas.

Dale married Dorothy Anna Arnold on October 5th, 1954, in Gainesville, Texas. They were happily married for 56 years and raised 4 children (Dale Ray, David Raymond, Don Robert, and Deanna Ruth). Dale and Dorothy remained happily married until Dorothy’s passing in 2010.

Dale worked as Maintenance Superintendent for both Linda Joe Shoe Company (until their closing) and then North Central Texas College, collectively over 40 years, until his retirement in 2009.

Dale will be best remembered as a loyal husband and extraordinary father, but also as a professional, a role model, a mentor, and a man willing to help anyone in need. Truly, a good man.

Remaining to cherish Dale’s memory are children, Dale Ray and Natalie Alexander and Deanna Ruth and John Bryan; grandchildren, Melissa Ice, Kristen Alfrey, Tanner Garrett, Doree Thomason, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Dale in death are his wife, Dorothy Alexander and children, David Raymond Alexander and Don Robert Alexander.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Roslyn Eugster officiating, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.
