Darlene Gee

Sept. 7, 1940 – July 2, 2025

Darlene Gee was born in Bluegrove, TX, on Sept. 7, 1940, to M.S. “Shep” and Alyene (Webb) Williams. She left this world for the promise of a much better place on July 2, 2025, in Gainesville, TX.

Darlene met her forever love, Jerry Gee, while they were both attending Henrietta High School. The celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary with their family on Oct. 16, 2024.

Darlene was stubborn, a little mischievous, but had a sweet spirit and great love for her family. She loved her jewelry and Coach purses and drawers full of kitchen gadgets, most of which were never used.

She made the best doughnut cakes and, for as long as she was able, creating wonderful holiday meals for the family she adored. She also loved her “breakfast of champions”: bananas and chocolate chip cookies, washed down with Diet Dr. Pepper.

She was a faithful member of Hillcrest Church of Christ. Her spot alongside her devoted husband will be noticeably empty.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Johnny Williams; a granddaughter, Tatum; a son-in-law Raymond Deweber; a nephew, Mike Williams; a brother-in-law, David Gee; and her father-and-mother-in-law, H.L. “Harmy” and Gladys (Moore) Gee.

Those left to cherish memories of her include her husband, Jerry Gee, of Gainesville; three daughters, Teri Snowden (Steve) of San Angelo; Darla Jones (Randy) of Aubrey; and Angela Pierce (Curtis) of Sanger; two grandchildren, Jeremy Deweber of Grape Creek and Randi Waters (Sam) of Eastland; two great-grandsons, Ryver and Cannon Waters, both of Eastland; a sister, Margaret Sims (Tommy) of Henrietta; sisters-in-law, Ardel Williams of Newcastle, OK, and Glenda Gee of Nocona; and nieces and nephews, Michelle Tompkins, Stacey Dyer, Dava Chitwood, Stephenie Wright, Chad Williams and Ashton Roderick.

Services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 8, at Hillcrest Church of Christ, Gainesville, under direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. Chris Webb, a cousin, will officiate, and Gary Webb, another cousin, will lead congregational singing. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm in Hope Cemetery, Henrietta.

Pallbearers will include Jeremy Deweber, Sam Waters, Curtis Pierce, Gary Webb, Austin Wright, and Lenzy Dyer.

This is not “goodbye”, but “see you later” Darlene, Wife, Mom, Maw Maw, Sister, Friend...you were the best.
