Winford Don King, 86, of Gainesville, passed away December 9, 2023 in Gainesville.

Don was born June 16, 1937 in Wellington and graduated high school in Holliday.  He was a Texas State Trooper for 30 years and enjoyed woodworking in retirement.

Survived by: wife Betty (Livingston) King of Gainesville; daughter Gay Curry of Gainesville; son Kevin King of Gainesville; grandchildren Shane Johnson (wife Sundi), Laine Curry, Adam Gray (wife Nicole); many great-grandchildren; brother Paul King of Midland; and niece DeAnn King.

Predeceased by: parents Paul and Agnes (Gentry) King; sister Leta Ledbetter; step-son Billy (Jody) Gray; and grandson Joshua Gray.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
