Edward "Cuate" Orona

Edward "Cuate" Orona, born on November 12, 1939, in Colorado City, passed away at the age of 84 on June 26, 2024, in Denton, TX. Cuate was well-known for his vibrant spirit, often found dancing, fishing, manning the barbecue grill, or singing along to his favorite tunes. His tough exterior belied a gentle soul, full of love and devotion to his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Ruth Orona; his son, Eugene Orona; daughters, Debbie Hill and Edna Garza; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his siblings Jose Angel, Hinio, and Victoria all of whom will miss him dearly.

The family will gather to honor and celebrate Cuate's life at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, located at 602 Lindsay St., Gainesville, Texas. A Rosary will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 12:30 PM, followed by a visitation at 1 PM and the service at 2 PM. His burial will take place at 3 PM at New Resthaven Cemetery, 3353 FM 372 (N. Grand Avenue), Gainesville, Texas. Geo J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville, TX, is assisting the family during this difficult time.
