Evelyn Geraldine Fincher

Evelyn Geraldine Fincher, 94, of Gainesville, TX, passed away after a short illness. Evelyn was born in Chamblee, Georgia, on January 6, 1932, to Elbert and Willie Mae Jenkins. She was the last surviving of seven siblings.

Evelyn married William H. (Bill) Fincher in August, 1952. They were lifelong sweethearts. Together they lived a life of service to the Lord. Their last place of service together was at Central Baptist Church in Gainesville where he was pastor from 1979-2012.

Many things can be said about our mom. She loved her family, the ocean, children, nursing, and people, but most of all she loved Jesus. She loved telling everyone she met about how He loves them and can be trusted with the best and worst of life.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Jerry Fincher (Carol), Pam Workman (Steve) and Vonda McFarlin (Allen); her grandchildren: Aimee Blanks (Landon) , Amanda Workman, Nathan Fincher (Stacy), Derek Workman, Devin Workman, Zachary McFarlin (Emily); great-grandchildren: Isaiah Blanks (Grace), Elijah Blanks (Sabrina), Titus Blanks, Rachel Fincher, Carson Fincher, Jade Johnson, Sumer Hernandez, Peyton McFarlin, Adalynn McFarlin and Grayson McFarlin, James and Henry McFarlin; one great-great grandchild Hazel Blanks.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband Bill, granddaughter Rachel Dawn Fincher and grandson Aaron McFarlin.

A private family service will be held in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, an appropriate tribute for Evelyn would be a donation made to the Foreign Missions Fund of Central Baptist Church, 1030 N. Morris Street, Gainesville, TX 76240.
