While he was in school, he was number 20 for the Leopard Basketball team where he was known as “JACK BE NIMBLE, JACK BE QUICK”, because he was the only one to ever made two points for the other team on the start of the second half with everyone yelling, “THE OTHER WAY”. Jack served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971, a one-year tour in Vietnam and the rest of his tour with C Troop 4 12 Cav 6th US Army at Fort Carson, Colorado. Also, he served one year in the Texas Guard in 1980.

Jack dedicated 45 years to Weber Aircraft/Zodiac, retiring in 2014. After retirement, Jack and Louise traveled extensively throughout the United States, cherishing those adventures until his recent illness.

A service celebrating Jack’s life will be held on Monday, June 23, 2:00 PM, at George J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville, officiated by Pastor Randy Taylor, minister of Crossroads Baptist Church.
