Jane Dorothy Myrick

Mass of Christian Burial for Jane Dorothy (Hesse) Myrick will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 21, 2021 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Rosary and vigil will be held at 7:00 PM on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at George J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to either ABBA or Sisters of Saint Mary of Namur.

Jane Dorothy (Hesse) Myrick, 78, of Lindsay was called to her eternal home with Jesus on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Jane was born on December 30, 1942 in Muenster, TX to Joseph and Christina (Henscheid) Hesse, the 8 ^th of 9 children.

She spent her childhood years living near Myra until the passing of her father at age 9.  From there she lived with her Aunts, Uncles and siblings until she graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1960. She married James (Jim) Myrick on September 7 ^th , 1963.

The Lord blessed them shortly after marriage with daughter Jill, followed by Julie, Joe, and Jeff. Jim and Jane built a beautiful family, staying busy with attending their school and athletic events at Lindsay School. Jane worked for 30 years at North Central Texas College in various roles and enjoyed helping students and staff.  Jane retired to spend time with her grandchildren and volunteering at Second Chance for ABBA Women’s Center. She enjoyed spending time with Jim, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren camping with them and friends at lake Texoma.  Jane lived her faith, loved her husband and family and was always the humble servant in all she did.

Jane is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim, daughters Jill (and Pat Fuhrmann) of Lindsay, TX, Julie (and Jeff Herrell) of Ft. Smith, AR, and sons Joe (and Amy) Myrick of Lindsay, TX, and Jeff (and Amanda) Myrick of Lindsay, TX.  Grandchildren include Jacob (and Kaileigh) Fuhrmann, Emily (and Cade) Chase, Connor (and Danielle) Fuhrmann, Sarah Fuhrmann, Thomas Herrell, Harrison Herrell, Rachel Herrell, George Herrell, Mackenzie Myrick, Molly Myrick, Madeline Myrick, Gracie Myrick, South Myrick. Great-grandchildren are Isaac, Eli, Khloe, Claire, Caroline, Ella Fuhrmann, Harper Herrell, Samuel, Hudson, Lawson Chase, and Kensley Fuhrmann.

Jane is preceded in death by parents Joe and Christina (Henscheid) Hesse, father and mother-in-law Dr. TS and Alvarene Myrick.  Siblings: Robert Hesse, Leo Hesse, Mary Ann Hesse, and Ramie Hesse.  In-laws Harold Neu, Sandy Sanders, Ethel Hesse, and Aggie Hesse.  In-Laws include John and Billye Myrick, Pat and Sis Stelzer, and Margaret Bordeau.  Other survivors include Ben Hesse, Caroline Neu, Evie Hesse, Sr. Roberta Hesse (SSMN), Chris Sanders.  13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, and friends that she considered family.
