Funeral services for Janelle “Gran Gran” Cummins, 86, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Kremling officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, the hour before the service.
Mrs. Cummins passed away June 8, 2025 in Gainesville. She was born March 22, 1939 in St. Jo, to Joe Crump and Ellie Evelyn (Ray) Conyers.
Janelle graduated from Gainesville High School in 1957. She married her beloved Gene Cummins on February 22, 1957. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church. She worked for over 39 years for the Dickson Brothers Dentist Office as a bookkeeper. She was dedicated to her family, and enjoyed sewing her free time. She will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Cummins is survived by son and daughter-in-law David and Teena Cummins of Gainesville; daughter Debbie Merritt of Lindsay; brother J.C. Conyers of Denison; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Sharon Conyers of Corinth; brother and sister-in-law Kenny and Jan Conyers of Sherman; sister-in-law Sharon Conyers of Round Rock; grandchildren: Jennifer and Will Robertson, Bill Haley, Jodi and Paul Nixon, Erin and Matt Helwig, Brett Gunter, Colt Gunter; 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janelle was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gene; brother Bob Conyers; son-in-law Ronnie Gunter; granddaughter Jamie Leigh Cummins.
The pallbearers are: Brett Gunter, Colt Gunter, Dakota Gunter, Bill Cummins, Bill Haley, Ryan Robertson. Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Gunter and Christopher Nixon.
