Jeannie’s family moved to Gainesville when she was in elementary school and she called it home for the rest of her life. She attended the church of the Nazarene where she accepted Christ as her Savior as a young girl. She was a proud graduate of Gainesville High School. She also attended NCTC (known as Cooke County College at the time). After graduation, Jeannie began working at Enderby Gas, where she remained employed until her retirement in 2020. She was an extremely dedicated employee who took pride in her work.
Jeannie married Thomas Richard Scott in 1987, making their home in Gainesville for 36 years until his death in 2023. Together they helped raise 3 daughters, earning the title of “coolest step-mom ever,” maintained careers, bought and cared for their home-away-from-home in Thackerville, and rescued numerous cats and dogs. Their love and care for one another was evident to anyone who spent time with them.
Jeannie’s quick wit and laugh were infectious. Even after suffering with advanced stages of dementia/Alzheimer's, she could crack a joke at the drop of a hat.
